You might think this is a poem, but it’s more like an internal dialogue between my mind and heart. Last week I was reading an article when I saw this quote, and the truth came crashing down on me like a ton of bricks.
“I have learned to kiss the wave that throws me against the Rock of Ages.”
Why are you drowning in sadness, O my soul? You could be walking above the waters.
Will you ever look at the trials as a road to Your Father’s arms?
Will you ever be able to bless the waves of pain that are dragging you to the Rock of Ages, the Foundation of your faith?
Where have you been looking at, my heart?
The circumstances around you?
People’s expectations? Your dreams?
Why have you placed your tired eyes on the situations when you could have been looking at your Ever Present Friend?
Remember that the sorrow of this world is lamenting without transformation, but the sorrow produced by God produces repentance and salvation.
Fix your eyes on Jesus, my soul. Praise Him
Why Am I down? Why so disturbed?
Kiss the wave of pain, my heart,
God is not wasting this trial,
And He is sufficient for me.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27
“I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But be brave; I have overcome the world!” John 16:33
We must take heart and be courageous in order to receive Jesus’ peace.
Be brave through the storm.
